Postgraduate Programme in Conference Interpreting

Anyone with a master’s degree can enrol for the one-year diploma course in conference interpreting at Lessius. The diploma is accredited at the highest level by AIIC (the Association of Professional Conference Interpreters Worldwide) and the European Institutions.

Conference interpreters can work for the European Commission as well as the European Parliament, but also freelance for multinationals, unions, international federations etc. They are on the front row at important economic, political and scientific conferences.

To get you there, we have compiled a well-balanced 60-credit programme which, alongside a theoretical basis, obviously revolves around practice-oriented seminars taught by highly experienced professional interpreters (both nationally and internationally). To be admitted you must, however, first attend a foundation course (held in September). Candidates must pass the entrance test to be allowed to move on to the one-year course.
