The
Master Européen en Traduction Spécialisée (METS) is the initiative of a consortium of 7 European universities and institutions of higher education: ISTI - Haute Ecole de Bruxelles (Brussels, Belgium), ILMH - Haute Ecole Léonard de Vinci (Brussels, Belgium), ISIT - Institut Catholique de Paris (France), Lessius Hogeschool (Antwerp, Belgium), IPLV - Université Catholique de l’Ouest (Angers, France), Universität Leipzig (Germany), Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona, Spain)
This Master offers student translators a year of specialisation in a multicultural, profession-oriented environment. The curriculum is highly innovative while adhering to the exacting standards set by the 7 partner institutions.
The year-long programme consists of 2 semesters spent in 2 partner institutions in different countries and offers 21 different curricular combinations.
Details for Lessius students
The METS programme is only available for students who recently graduated from Lessius University College as a Master in Translation. (s)He follows courses at universities of the “METS” consortium and performs an assignment given by Lessius.
The 2 universities, one in each semester must be part of the "METS" consortium. The students will take on 25 ECTS at each university. The remaining 10 ECTS are obtained by fulfilling an assignment given by a lecturer from Lessius University College, related to translation technology or knowledge gained during the year abroad. Details for incoming METS students
Lessius offers a METS programme in the first semester. Incoming METS students may choose up to 5 specialised courses. Each course is worth 5 ECTS. During the first week at Lessius, they will inform the METS coordinator and the European programme coordinator of their selection.
